1. When a digitized map is calibrated to be used with OZIexplorer the results are stored in a file with the .map extension. The calibration disk contains all files with the .map extension, it is basically a text file. To open the file and edit its contents use a word processor such as Microsoft Word, Wordpad or Notepad(START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES). Make sure the FILE TYPE WINDOW in the word processor reads ALL DOCUMENTS or to that effect. A example of a open .map file is shown below. The third line shows where the actual digitzed map is stored , in this case DRIVE D, if your cdrom drive letter does not match this letter, change the letter to match your cdrom drive. Then save the file to its original location overwriting the old file.
If you are leaving the maps on the cdrom and not copying them to your harddrive the third line should always read Drive Letter\Map Description, no directories in between the drive letter and the description.

It should not be “D:\Vancouver Island\Maps\Adam River 92 L8.tif
If you are not comfortable at editing map files contact your map distributor or Spectrum Digital Imaging to receive a new calibration disk with the proper drive letter.
